Eagle Commander sees every file on your disk, so it keeps to itself. This page says exactly what leaves your Mac, when, and where it goes.

Who is responsible

Aleš Orel (Eaglesoft), Griček pri Željnah 8, 1330 Kočevje, Slovenia, is the controller for the personal data described here. Write to support@eaglesoft.si with any question about it.

The app

Eagle Commander sends nothing anywhere: no telemetry, no usage statistics, no crash reports, no identifiers. Your licence key is checked on your Mac, without the internet. Your files, folder names and settings never leave it.

The one exception is looking for a new version, and only if you agreed when the app asked (you can change your answer in Settings). The app then requests a list of versions from eaglecommander.eaglesoft.si. Like any web request, it carries your IP address and the name and version of the app and of macOS. It contains nothing else — the optional system profile the update framework can send is switched off. If you download an update, it comes from GitHub, where the files are stored.

Connections you make yourself — to an SFTP server, for example — go only to the server you chose.

This website

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub receives your IP address when you visit, and may keep it in its logs for security; see GitHub’s privacy statement. Our pages set no cookies and contain no analytics, advertising or tracking. Downloads of the app are served by GitHub too.

The buy page loads Paddle’s checkout. From the moment you open it, Paddle processes what you enter, including your payment details, as an independent controller under Paddle’s privacy policy. We never see your payment details.

When you buy

To send you a licence key we use, on the legal basis of the contract with you:

This is how it travels. Paddle tells our licence service that the payment went through. The service runs on Cloudflare; it asks Paddle for your e-mail address, signs the key, and sends it to you through Resend, an e-mail delivery service. It remembers the order number, so that you get one key for one purchase. A copy of the e-mail goes to our support address, support@eaglesoft.si, which Cloudflare forwards to a Google Gmail mailbox, so we can send the key again if you lose it.

We keep the order number and the copy of the key for as long as the licence can be used, so that we can help you with it. You can ask us to delete them at any time; we can then no longer resend your key.

Who processes data for us

They process the data only to provide their service to us. Where data goes to the United States, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable form. Write to support@eaglesoft.si. You can also complain to the Slovenian data protection authority, the Information Commissioner, or to the authority in your own country.
